Nikon D60 announced!

Well Nikon couldn’t let Canon getting away with all the press at PMA. So today Nikon announced D60! As the predecessor to the Nikon D40x, the Nikon D60 is much the same. It shares the same body, and many of the specs are the same. The major difference is Nikon D60 has 2 ways to fight dust. The dust reduction system previously seen on the Nikon D300 DSLR has been adopted for the D60, and Nikon has coupled this with what it is calling the “Airflow Control System”.

Well who would have thought that one of the founders of DC shoes would be a rally car driver in his latter years. As a DC founder Ken Block, is a rally car driver competing in Rally America. Ken Block decided again to jump his Subaru WRX STI on a mountain! He’s kind of fearless when he’s wrapped in a 3000lbs vehicle. This time in the loacation is New Zealand, and the jump one HUGE KICKER! Remember he’s also the same guy that jump 171 foot jump! Just plain fearless!!!

SNES x iphone…

When the iphone came out i was not a huge fan. Just seem like just a toy that everyone wants. Its got a pretty touch screen, plays music, play movies, and its a phone too! What couldn’t it do? Nothing! But as time passes iphone seems to have some very cool features! After there newest firmware update iphone seems to be taking off! Well this video might have done it for me. SNES on the iphone!!! I can have all the classic SNES games in the palm of my hands! Want it!!! As its still in beta there is very little info.

Pentax K20D @ PMA08

With the never ending battle of the DSLR, Pentax has announced there 14.6MP CMOS K20D. This is a major upgrade to there previous model the K10D. The position Pentax right up there with the Top Dog’s, Canon and Nikon!

The K20D is the flagship model of the Pentax DSLR line and features:

-14.6 megapixel CMOS sensor, compared to the 10.2 megapixel CCD sensor of the K10D
-Live View with Auto-Focus and the options of a Grid Array and 4X or 8X zoom for critical focusing
-2.7 inch LCD monitor. This is larger than the K10D 2.5 inch but smaller than the 3.0 inch LCD featured on the Nikon and Sony prosumer models.
-Improved Shake Reduction system over previous models, based on a lighter sensor
-Custom Image functions that allow users to select between six presets to further adjust saturation, hue, contrast, and sharpness
-Improved Dust Reduction system that features Dust Alert to pinpoint the exact location of sensor dust

Friday Off Topic…Its a bit late tho!

Sorry guys about the late Friday Off Topic. I totally forgot to put up, i was watching the Australia Open. Here i have a tips for all of you Photoshop users. Its called “You suck at Photoshop” Who doesn’t love Photoshop! But there is bit a twist to this tutorial. Donnie as a bit of an issue with his cat. This is Vol 2 of 3 video’s. Toyo R1R update!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well folks the R1R’s are out of the bag and many ppl are starting to get them ready for the Dixie Tour. From the pix you can see how much wider the R1R are to the RE-01R’s. And i mean alot wider. From the 1st pic the tires are as follows:

RE-01R 205/45/16(16×7) vs R1R 195/50/15(15×7) vs RE-01R 205/45/16(16×7.5)

Looks like the RE-01R have to be stretched on 7.5 to match up to 195 on the R1R’s. That means really good news when the 225/45/15 comes out! And at the current moment i’m trying to find out how much these tires are in my local area.

Touge Battle Spoon CTR FD2 vs J’s Racing S2000

This Fit means business. As the best selling car in Japan, and car of the year in Japan. Mugen has supped up the everyone’s favorite the Honda Fit! The Fit comes with a Super Charger slapped on the L15A, giving the engine a 150hp and 138tq. Mugen has given the Fit a very aggressive body kit aswell. Take a look at the gallery for more images!

Mugen Civic Type RR 2.2

Mugen has done it again. This time for the Tokyo Auto Salon they bring us the brand new Civic Type RR 2.2L As you can see from the pix is the Civic has many many pieces of carbon fiber. I’m sure this a way to keep the weight down. The 2.2L is delivering a whopping 260hp and 175tq. This is much more than the Mugen RR car that we just saw just over 5 months ago. Its uncertain if this car will come in production, if it does it will be coming in very limited run.

One very interesting thing is that the cluster has switched places compared to a regular Civic. The tachometer is on the top vs. on the bottom.

Honda Diesel

Honda you could say is a very small car manufacture has now started to design a diesel engine. As there is not alot of info at the current moment about the engine and its specifics. Insiders are saying that Honda will see there first diesel car by 2009 in a Acura form. But the current moment take a look. Very nice!

Audi TT-S…Beautiful!

I don’t say beautiful very often on many cars, but this one get the nod. As this is the 3rd generation of the TT. I do have to say they did a very good job, infact a great job! The New Audi TT-S will have a 272hp engine moving the car from 0-60 in 5.5sec. Not too shabby at all. I’m really impressed by the way Audi designs are. I’ve really never been a big fan of there styling until last year. Go Audi Go!!!

Audi R8 V12 TDi Diesel

Audi R8 TDi was unveiled at the Detroit autoshow. The R8 now hosting a 6.0L V12 with 500hp and a whopping 737tq…Still gets 23mpg!!! That’s just awesome! With this kind of power propels the R8 0-60 in 4.2sec and top speed of 186mph! With this engine very similar to there LeMans R10 engine. A significant difference is that R10 was a 90 Degree V12, where as the R8 is a 60 Degree. This car if it does come into production will be very exciting as it would be one of the only diesel powered sports cars.

Mazda Furai

Mazda Furai is a concept car that has come in reality. Furai is the Japanese word for sound of wind! The Furai uses Courage C65 chassis which Mazda had used in ALMS just 2 yrs ago. The Furai is powered by a 450hp 20B. 20B is the very same engine that is a Mazda Cosmos. The triple rotor 20B had 2 Liter(1962 cc) of displacement, which is quite large for a rotary powerplant. It produced 300 hp (224 kW) and 300 ft·lbf (402 N·m) with twin turbochargers. Hard to say if the Furai does use turbo chargers or not. Is this the new Mazda 787B i do believe so! Once again Best Motoring is bringing another comparison between Lexus IS-F and G37. The one and only Keichi Tsuchiya does the testing between the 2 cars. Once again the video is in Japanese. But you get the idea which car comes out on top! Also, the price drop of the new Lexus IS-F is out!!! Coming in at a whopping $56,000US is this a deal for this car? What doesn’t this car offer. 5.0L, V8, 416hp, 371tq, 0-60 in 4.6sec, and 8 speed!!! What’s not to love! Styling?

Nissan Skyline GT-R JGTC GT500 Car!!!

Nissan has officially released in Tokyo, Japan of there up and coming JGTC GT500 car! And boy does it look great! There is not too much about specs about the Skyline GT-R GT500 car. Too bad there was not interior shots of the car.
